NarraSift Copyright Policy

1. Your responsibility for input text

You may only synthesize text you have the right to use: your own writing, material you have licensed, public-domain works, or uses permitted by law (for example fair use — which is fact-specific and your call to make, not ours). Turning someone else's book, article, or script into audio without permission may infringe their copyright even if you own a copy, and even if the audio never leaves your classroom.

Documents you upload and pages you import are treated the same as pasted text: importing does not create rights you don't already have.

2. Reporting infringement (takedown notice)

If you believe content hosted or generated on NarraSift infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at copyright@narrasift.com (or by mail to NarraSift Digital Voice Infrastructure LLC, Attn: DMCA Agent, PO Box 387, Lovejoy, GA 30250; by phone 470-531-5259) including:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
2. Identification of the infringing material and where it is on our service (a project link or audio URL);
3. Your name, address, telephone number, and email;
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner;
6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We will remove or disable access to the identified material promptly, notify the account holder, and record the complaint.

3. Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address including: identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury of your good-faith belief the removal was mistaken; your name, address, and phone number; consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or the federal courts located in Georgia if outside the US); and your signature. If the original complainant does not notify us within 10–14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.

4. Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. We track complaints per account in our reports system.

5. Misrepresentation

Knowingly false takedown or counter-notices can make you liable for damages (in the US, under 17 U.S.C. §512(f)). Don't use this process to silence content you merely dislike.
