NarraSift Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: Pending publication
NarraSift makes synthetic classroom audio. That only works if the audio it produces can be trusted. This policy draws the lines; we enforce them.
1. Never use NarraSift to:
Deceive with a voice.
- Present generated audio as the real recorded voice of any actual person.
- Impersonate a specific person — living or dead — without their documented consent (or their estate's), even "as a joke."
- Produce audio for robocalls, phone scams, vishing, or any scheme where the listener is meant to believe a human said it.
Harm people.
- Create content that sexualizes minors in any form. This results in immediate termination and reporting to authorities.
- Harass, threaten, or defame a person, or incite violence or hatred against a person or group.
- Produce content that is unlawful where you or your listeners are.
Violate rights.
- Synthesize text you do not have the right to use. Buying a novel does not license turning it into an audiobook. See the [Copyright Policy].
- Upload visuals you do not have the right to use. Owning a textbook does not license republishing its figures.
- Circumvent technological protection measures to obtain text for synthesis.
Abuse the platform.
- Evade rate limits, character metering, or the demo cap (for example by creating accounts in bulk — every signup is metered and monitored).
- Resell, sublicense, or proxy raw generation capacity. (Using your generated audio commercially is fine; wrapping our API for third parties is not.)
- Probe, scan, or test the security of the service without written permission.
- Interfere with other customers' use of the service.
2. Classroom reality check
Audio you generate is yours to use with your students, in your courses, and in your published materials — including commercially. Attribution is welcome but not required. What we ask: if audio will reach people who might mistake it for a human recording (podcast intros, narrated videos), disclose that it is synthetic where a reasonable listener would care.
3. Enforcement
Violations may result in content removal, warning, suspension, or termination depending on severity — deception and child-safety violations skip straight to termination. Where we suspend an account, playback and export of existing lawful content may be preserved at our discretion; quota abuse and unpaid balances pause generation immediately. We may report unlawful activity to authorities.
4. Reporting abuse
Anyone — account holder or not — can report abuse or impersonation to reports@narrasift.com or through the report link in the app footer. Include the project or audio link if you have it, what the audio claims to be, and how to reach you. We review every report within 2 business days.
5. Changes
We may update this policy as new misuse patterns emerge; material changes are announced the same way as Terms changes.
